Sizing a sliding door

Run the track at least 300 mm wider than the door opening so the curtains can stack clear of the glass and the door slides freely. Choose a single panel that stacks to the side the door opens from, or a centre-opening pair.

Common questions

Should sliding door curtains open to one side?

If the door opens from one end, a single panel stacking to that side keeps the doorway clear. For wide stacker doors a centre-opening pair is easier to use.

What drop do I need for a sliding door?

Measure from the top of the track to the floor. Most people choose 10 mm off the floor so the curtain clears the door track.
